
Luis Javier Castro

Prior to funding Mesoamerica more than 20 years ago, Luis Javier was a consultant at Bain & Company. In 2013 and 2019, he was awarded business man of the year by El Financiero of Costa Rica for his transcendental leadership that allowed Mesoamerica to cross frontiers and become one of the most relevant and innovative firms in the last 20 years. He is also one of the 100 most influential people in Latin America according to America Economía magazine and a member of the G50 group of Latin American business leaders.
Luis Javier devotes a significant amount of time and resources to social impact initiatives through several organizations that promote quality education, sustainability, leadership innovation and entrepreneurship in Costa Rica and the broader Latin-American region. He is a member of the board of directors of United Way Worldwide, the largest privately funded non-profit organization in the world, President of the Conscious Capitalism Chapter in Costa Rica, and President Emeritus of Yo Emprendedor, AED (Business Association for Development) and AMARTE (Friends of the Museum of Art Association). Luis Javier also sits on the board of directors of Paniamor, Fundación Parque de la Libertad and Vice President of the Chamber of Outdoor Media.
Mr. Luis Javier Castro is a Central American born in Costa Rica, a husband and father of three children.
Mr Castro holds an Bachelor in Science from Texas A&M University and an MBA from el Georgetown University.
